MacBook keyboard replacement in Prague

Quick answer: We fix dead, stuck or double-typing MacBook keys. A keyboard replacement starts at 3,990 CZK depending on the model. Diagnostics are free. The keyboard is riveted into the top case, so the job is involved and usually not same-day, expect several days and an ordered part. We give a 24-month warranty on the new part. Find us at Jaromírova 576/34, Prague 2.

Butterfly or scissor keyboard

MacBooks from 2016 to 2019 use the butterfly mechanism, which is prone to dust and sticking keys. Newer models use the more reliable scissor mechanism (Magic Keyboard). We identify which one you have by model and check parts availability.

How the replacement works

The MacBook keyboard is held to the top case by hundreds of rivets, so we replace either the whole top case or, on some models, do an involved keyboard swap. The price depends on the model, pick your MacBook in the MacBook repair price list. We also fix the MacBook Air M1 and older MacBook Air.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a MacBook keyboard replacement cost?

From 3,990 CZK depending on the model. See the price list.

Why is a keyboard replacement so involved?

The keyboard is riveted into the MacBook top case. Depending on the model we replace the whole top case or remove the keyboard the hard way, which takes time.

I have a butterfly keyboard, is it worse?

The butterfly mechanism (MacBooks 2016 to 2019) is more prone to dust and sticking. We replace it with a new part.

How long does it take?

Usually several working days depending on the model and parts; same-day is not possible.

Is cleaning sometimes enough?

If the keys act up from dust or crumbs, a cleaning may help. We assess it during free diagnostics.

What warranty do you give?

24 months on the new part.
